Tanuja Chandra opens up on sequel of Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta starrer Sangharsh!
After a long absence from work, Preity Zinta held a #AskPZ session on her X (formerly Twitter) yesterday, May 7. Numerous admirers bombarded the actress's timeline with inquiries concerning her personal and career life. On most of them, the actress also attempted an answer.
 
But in one of her chit-chat responses, she voiced her desire for a follow-up to her 1999 movie Sangharsh, which threw fans into a frenzy. Tanuja Chandra, the film's director, has now responded to the same.
 
Tanuja Chandra, the film's director, disclosed whether a sequel to Preity Zinta's psychological horror movie is possible just one day after the actress showed interest in one. The seasoned director said in a recent interview with a daily that she would most likely do a sequel if she came up with an intriguing idea.
 
She said, “I am so glad that the film is so well remembered after all these years,” Tanuja further reveals, “It would be wonderful to see Reet Oberoi again in an older avatar, but still as courageous and cool as she always was.”
 
In the movie, Akshay Kumar played the brilliant but imprisoned Professor Aman Verma, who grows fond to Reet. His portrayal of the astute professor was believable and well-liked. His past was not thoroughly examined, though.
 
Regarding if the actor from Welcome to the Jungle's character merits a standalone spin-off, Chandra revealed, “Well, I cannot really show him as a young man now… so we’ll have to let that one go.
 
During the interactive #AskPZ session that Preity hosted on May 6, one of the fans said, "Life mein apni career k konsi Film ka Part 2 banana chahti ho?#PZchat. The actress said, "Shangharsh for sure (with a red heart emoji) rest can't think of any right now #PZchat" in response.
